Get to sippin’ y’all!
There are two things most every Southerner can appreciate: patio weather and a perfectly mixed cocktail. And while our current 90 degree temps aren’t necessarily the perfect patio weather, what better way to combat this blazing heat than with a cool drink in hand? Head to one of these restaurants and try some of the city’s best Southern-inspired cocktails. One sip and you’ll swear you’re on your grandma’s front porch in a rocking chair.
JCT Kitchen & Bar
You can’t get much more Southern than iced tea, and you can’t go wrong with JCT Kitchen’s JCTea. It’s a tea-infused gin with a splash of Grand Marnier, lemon, and orange bitters. A citrusy, boozy take on iced tea — both delicious and sneakily strong.

Parish
Paying homage to our home state, Parish stirs it up with The Georgia Peach, a sweet blend of Firefly Sweet Tea vodka, peach puree, and lemonade. It’s a little bit sweet, a little bit tart, and all Georgian. So good, you might not stop at just one. But as Scarlet O’Hara once said…fiddle dee dee, you can worry about that tomorrow.

The Family Dog
If you went to college in the South, you probably know what “hunch punch” is — a potent mixture of grain alcohol and various juices, usually mixed in large quantities in either a cooler, a (new) garbage can, or (even worse), a bath tub. Ah, college. The Family Dog classes up the stuff with ”The Angry Elk,” a combination of 151-proof Everclear (you heard me), fruit punch, and fresh fruit.

The Shed At Glenwood
There’s something gracefully Southern about a mint julep with all its Kentucky bourbon goodness, and The Shed at Glenwood puts a modern twist on this classic libation. Their Orange Basil Mint Julep starts with muddled orange, then bourbon is poured on with a little basil-infused syrup and club soda to top it off. Flavorful and refreshing.

HOBNOB
How about a boozed-up lemonade milkshake? Don’t mind if I do! Every good Southerner knows the merits of an ice cold glass of lemonade, and HOBNOB takes lemonade to a whole new level. They blend lemon sorbet with lemonade, champagne and vodka. It’s light and lemony — perfect for hot weather.
