Atlanta’s Best Espresso Martinis

We love a classic vodka martini, served freezing cold and slightly dirty. But sometimes we need a bit of a change…and a caffeinated pick-me-up never hurts. Enter the Espresso Martini. Read on to discover our picks for the most delectable combinations of booze and bean.

W Hotel Downtown

For those of you who like your martini served up with a side of posh ambiance, this one’s for you. And if Drinkshop gets too crowded, find your way to the “Living Room” bar downstairs. There’s an adorable Irish bartender who serves up a frothy, slightly sweet, and utterly satisfying espresso martini.

Cafe 640

Café 640 (formerly Café di Sol) is known for their grapefruit rosewater martini, but don’t be afraid to ask for the espresso variety. It’s shaken up with ice cold vodka, a shot of Illy espresso, and a hint of cream, then served in a chilled martini glass, complete with an espresso bean or two floating on top.

Carpe Diem

If the chilled-out vibe of Decatur is more your speed, you’ll love Carpe Diem.  Just around the corner from the Sycamore Street area (pictured), Carpe Diem has a caffeinated elixir called the Toasted Almond.  They mix coffee and cream with both Kahlua and Amaretto liqueurs.  Dangerously divine.

Fritti

Did the Italians invent espresso?  Why, yes.  Yes, they did.  So where better than an Italian restaurant for your espresso-based drink?  Fritti  lovingly combines Fris vodka, Kahlua, espresso, and cream and serves it up to you with love. Now that’s amorè!

The Chocolate Bar

Booze and house-made chocolates? A bar after our own heart. This place is the perfect beginning (or end) to a girls’ night out, and the chocolate espresso martini should not be missed. Even better to stop by on a Thursday when they are priced at $8 instead of the usual $11.

P’cheen

Every inch of this place is cool – from the food, to the servers, to the décor, to the patrons. You just can’t go wrong…and certainly not when you order a coffee martini. Espresso vodka is shaken with Whynatte and served over ice in a small tumbler. Deliciously smooth and guaranteed to have you on the dance floor for a solid hour. Trust us.
