A brunch meet and greet presented by YP
James Beard Award-winning chef Hugh Acheson is a busy guy. In between stellar restaurants: Empire State South (Atlanta); 5 & 10 (Athens); The National (Athens) and The Florence (Savannah), stints as a judge on Bravo’s Top Chef, and numerous speaking engagements around the country, he makes time to write awesome cookbooks like his newest foray into all things vegetable and fruit, The Broad Fork.
In conjunction with YP influencer Erica Key (Eating with Erica), we were invited with other notable and influential Atlanta food bloggers and personalities for an exclusive brunch Q&A at Empire State South with Chef Hugh Acheson. If you didn’t know, the Yellow Pages we all grew up with that propped coffee tables, held doors open and provided phone numbers to businesses, is now YP – a website and app centered around curating inspired and thought-provoking local experiences that drive marketing efforts for small businesses.
We were treated to ESS mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and blanco tequila-heavy “YP” cocktail with Gentian liquer, aloe liquor and lime. A beautifully fragrant sipper for the hot day.
Brunch was a plethora of dishes that brought out our inner fat kid with plates of sweet French toast and berries, blueberry and granola shots, savory sausage and bacon biscuits and shrimp and grits.
To wind down from our food-induced coma, Chef Acheson served up and Q&A with information on his upcoming coffee shop Spiller Park, his love for coffee and Atlanta, where he sees the food scened going and a few of his favorite ATL chefs and blogs.
