The burger is still alive and well…
So who out there is bored with the enduring burger movement in Atlanta? No one? Cool, me either. Especially when you can enjoy an intepretation that will restore your faith in what a real burger should be. It doesn’t have to be greasy, salty, or be prepared at a truck stop by some fry cook named Lenny. Not saying that there’s anything wrong with that. I love a greasy spoon as much as the next guy, but sometimes you want refinement. And that’s what I found in my most recent visit to Bocado.
Enter the Bocado burger stack. The buzz about the burger had reached fever pitch with me. Yes, I’m fully aware that I’m two years late and that the buzz has been going on for some time now, but it was the persisting tweets, comments, and rave musings from fellow food enthusiasts that forced me to experience it for myself. And boy was I blown away. Chef Todd Ginsberg has created a masterpiece that can compete head on with the city’s finest. The concept is simple: take the best cuts of farm-raised beef, season and cook to perfection, add house-made pickles, apply two crucial pieces of American cheese, and wait for the patron’s “Ohh” face.
Sounds simple right? Think again. I challenge any of you to try and recreate the juicy yet non-greasy burger on your Foreman grill at home. You will fail. It’s just THAT good. Which is why the Bocado burger stack is the EDR coveted “Eat of the Week”. Don’t believe me? Make a trip to the Westside and try it for yourself.
