Celebrate Sailor Jerry Day by Looking ‘Forward to the Past’

Ahoy Matey! June 12th is Sailor Jerry Day!

You may want to brush up on your sailor speak, because June 12th is ‘Sailor Jerry Day’. What is Sailor Jerry Day you might ask? It is the day William Grant & Sons takes to commemorate the life and times of Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins, the hard-living Navy tattoo artist for which its popular 92 proof rum is inspired upon.

To celebrate Collins, a man who revolutionized the tattoo industry by championing regulated standards of sterilization and sanitation that are still met today, Sailor Jerry is offering 101 complimentary tattoos featuring the original Norman Collins anchor design at 3 Kings Tattoos in Brooklyn, New York. Party goers will also enjoy free Sailor Jerry cocktails throughout the night at Matchless Bar in Brooklyn, NY.
I know what you’re saying, “But I don’t live in New York. How do I get in on the fun”? So those of us out of state can also celebrate Norman Collins, Sailor Jerry Brand Ambassador Paul Monahan developed a brand new cocktail called ‘Forward to the Past‘. The cocktail is a modern day take on the classic rum and coke, so hoist your anchors and toast to Sailor Jerry Day!
